8 NAPTIME

The Mexican siesta has long been a source of curiosity and kidding, but I've been an authority and advocate of naps since before pillows were invented. I get up at 3 every morning, and if I can't catch a litle "power nap", I get this overwhelming urge to kick something. From the photos below, it seems that the real knowledge brokers in this world (the kids and the creatures) are already on top of the situation...

Ed Burton sent me this fascinating series of photos. The artist pictured is Abu Nawaf (from Egypt, I think). I've seen all kinds of media used for artwork, but this is a first. AMAZING!!!

6 YIKES!! Wal-Mart Shoppers!!!

Sometimes I love shopping at WAL-Mart. Other times, it's like pulling teeth. Like when you encounter something like the following:

Just one reason "tie-dyes" may not make a comeback.

When this fellow walked in, all the smiley-face sales signs went and hid themselves in the storeroom.
You probably won't see this person adorning the cover of ELLE magazine anytime soon.

You can't tell it from this snapshot, but a raccoon is eating this guy's nose off.

Hm-m-m...Is it Tarzan? or Sheena?

Not sure if this a toupee or a bad hair dye day...but he probably has a good reason for looking like that. Then again, maybe not.

I heard that after this lady finished shopping, she was mauled in the parking lot by a flock of irate flamingos.
